I was born in Montreal, Canada on September 30, 2009 with a heart defect called Truncas Arteriosis which required surgery 30 days later. Since then I have had multiple procedures including 3 open heart surgeries. Today I am stable and play multiple sports including Hockey (Goalie), Baseball (Catcher) and Football (WR) thanks to my doctors and nurses at CHEO hospital in Ottawa and CHU Sainte-Justine in Montreal.
I try to give back to organizations as often as I can because me and my family have been helped out so much by so many people. The Children's Wish granted me a trip to Hollywood where I got to visit the set of the Goldberg's. Check out my photos on this site! Since I was granted a Wish I speak at a number of events talking about how important it is to give to the Wish Foundation because it really makes a difference. The CHEO Foundation and the hospital have done so much for and my family so I try to give my time as often as I can.
I enjoy talking so much that I decided to start a podcast where I can interview special people and talk about cool things.
Zander talks with Gord Miller, a Canadian sportscaster for Bell Media's sports cable network TSN. He is a play-by-play announcer for the NHL on TSN and is the lead announcer for TSN's coverage of international hockey, including the IIHF World Under-20 Hockey Championships. He also covers the annual NHL Entry Draft, provides play-by-play for Canadian Football League games, and does play-by-play for NBCSN in the United States.
