Documentary Filmmaker Dan Napoli joins former toy artist and NYC-based creative director John Battistini to wax intellectual on influential albums, movies, comics, and television shows from the 1980's and 1990's, influenced them growing up as part of the MTV Generation.
On this episode, the gang goes on another musical journey as John, Dan, and Sausha discuss their personal entry points to the bands associated with the New York hardcore music like Gorilla Biscuits, Agnostic Front, H20 and others, how the music of that scene acted as bridge to other hardcore and metalcore bands, and how important compilation records were to their musical discovery. The trio also muse if the idealism of 7 Seconds' “Not Just Boys Fun” rung true to Sausha’s experience as a girl getting in the hardcore scene in the metropolis that is Sioux Falls, South Dakota by the early 2000s.
