Welcome to the Happiest Place on Earth. Welcome to Walt Disney World! And what a world it is. Since its grand opening in 1971, Disney World has become the largest and most visited theme park in the world - by far. But calling this global icon a “theme park” doesn’t even begin to capture the magic, wonder, innovation, and cultural staying power of Disney World. Walt Disney envisioned Disneyland’s bigger sibling as not just an amusement park but a model for the cities of the future. That might not be how we see the park today, but at twice the size of Manhattan, it is certainly a city - or even a country - of its own. One that still has the power to make even the most jaded adult feel like a kid again. In this Cerca Guide, Lauren Passell, proud Disney Adult and founder of Tink Media (named after Tinkerbell, naturally) will take you on a magical tour of all 4 Disney World parks and show you how to have the most magical time possible in the most magical place on earth.

There is no theme park in the world quite like EPCOT center. Envisioned by Walt Disney as a utopian city of the future, it would be home to 20 thousand people, parks, gyms, schools, monorails and people movers, where all car traffic would move on underground roads, and the businesses would showcase American ingenuity. But the state of Florida demanded that Walt build the Magic Kingdom first - and when Walt dies 5 years before the Magic Kingdom opened, the executives at Disney decided they didn’t really want to run an entire city without his guidance.
So its true that the ambitions for EPCOT were scaled down quite a bit - but still at the time it was the largest construction project on eart. And Earth was exactly what it was created to showcase.
So In this episode we’re journeying under the seas, blasting off to Mars, visiting countries as far flung as Japan and Italy, testing cars, sipping margaritas, and even guarding the galaxy with some familiar friends.
There’s only one place you can do all that - EPCOT, the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow.
