Kevin Maki was born and raised on a farm in Corvallis. He’s the reporter behind NBC Montana’s ‘Montana Moment’ series. It’s a collection of stories that showcase Montana’s treasures and history. From the rock fences in the Bitterroot and Turkey Pete in Deer Lodge to The Garden of One Thousand Buddhas in Arlee Kevin talks about the stories, what inspired Montana Moment and the stories Kevin is working on now.

Mark Heyka grew up on a wheat and cattle farm near Belleville, Kansas. His love of weather goes back to childhood. He would watch the weather report on TV. He would then draw maps on chalkboards and pretend to be a weatherman!
March 2019 marks his 20th anniversary with NBC Montana. In this segment of Spotlight Montana, Mark talks about his 20 years of covering weather patterns in Montana, what weather trends he’s seeing and what it could mean for you in the coming years. In addition, hear what Mark says about current snow pack levels, how it compares to past years, the potential for flooding and the outlook for wildfire season.
