In his second day in Amherst, we sat down with Coach Frank Martin to discuss his family, his history, his connections to the area and his love and passion for all those that have played for him and have been around his programs. With Coach Martin's arrival, it is truly an exciting time for UMass Basketball.

We’re back for Episode Two of Just Being Frank with special guest Mike Mannix. Coach Mannix stops by the pod to talk about the CommonwealthTBT team filled with former UMass stars. Frank gives an update on the Summer One workouts, and lends his initial thoughts and insight on the players making their way to Amherst. Fresh off his trip to the renowned Peach Jam, Frank recalls being a part of the inaugural Jam over 25 years ago. Jay and Frank discuss the importance of building relationships, making an impact in young people’s lives and what's in store for the first full team practice. In preparation for the TBT, The Commonwealth squad comprised of mostly former Minutemen, stop by the John Francis Kennedy Champions Center in Amherst to practice for their run at $1 million in prize money. Jay and Frank are able to visit with some of the alumnus that have returned to campus to participate in the TBT including: Javorn Ferrell, Maxie Esho, Terrell Vinson, Freddie Riley and Chaz Williams. The group discuss the bond their share as Minutemen, the changes on campus and where their careers have taken them. John recounts his one season on the basketball team back in 1979 and what it took to get there. He also recounts what it was like to learn and grow under the iconic UMass Head Coach Jack Leaman.
