He also founded a real estate development firm that spearheaded the restoration and redevelopment of an historic seaport communities’ downtown waterfront, as well as organizing and founding a community bank.</p><p>K.T. currently serves on the Executive Committee of the American Institute of Architects Custom Residential Architects Network (AIA CRAN). Additionally, he serves as co-chair of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Leading Supplier's Council, and as Trustee for both the NAHB Remodelers Council and the NAHB Custom Builders Committee. </p>

Who is RESNET? The Residential Energy Services Network or RESNET is a not-for-profit, membership corporation that is governed by a board of directors (who are elected by membership).
In April 1995, the National Association of State Energy Officials and Energy Rated Homes of America founded the Residential Energy Services Network (RESNET) to develop a national market for home energy rating systems and energy efficient mortgages.

My guest, Ryan Meres has 16 years of experience in the building performance industry, working for state and federal agencies as well as several NGOs.
As the Program Director for RESNET, Ryan currently leads numerous programs, including implementation of RESNET’s HERSH2O whole-house water efficiency standard; as well as initiatives to get energy and water efficiency valued in the real estate transaction process.
Ryan also oversees RESNET’s National Registry of more than 2.6 million HERS Rated homes. Ryan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from the Savannah College of Art and Design and lives in eastern North Carolina with his wife and their three children.
