MacEagon Voyce is a writer, musician, and tech founder. After five years of balancing culture journalism at VICE with people ops work at various startups, he founded a social music app called Grey Matter and started falling down web3 rabbit holes. He’s especially fascinated by collective ownership and realigning platform incentives around the creation of public good.

Matthew Chaim | Songcamp

Matthew Chaim is a musician, songwriter, and the founder of Songcamp, a community of musicians, artists and strategists with a deep interest in learning what happens when music and the new internet crash into each other.

Songcamp has held three virtual, experimental songwriting camps to date, filled with lore and novel web3 mechanics. The most recent camp, Chaos, was a 77-person headless band that created 48 songs and has generated about half a million dollars in revenue.

Supertight Woody | Noun Sounds

Woody — aka Supertight Woody, fka Woody's Produce — is a content producer and artist who’s been making music for over 20 years, a love that began while listening to his dad play guitar tabs. Music became the dream, and he reached it with a production credit on an Iggy Azalea track, but the politics of the industry turned him off, so he pivoted, and eventually found web3.

We talked about how his involvement in CC0 – or creative commons – projects like Cryptoads and Nouns DAO led to the creation of Noun Sounds, a music platform focused on providing free-to-use music for creators that challenges some old music industry paradigms around copyright and intellectual property.

Kaitlyn Davies | FWB + Refraction

Kaitlyn Davies is a Lisbon-based Canadian, where she works and collaborates at the forefront of music and technology. She explores this nexus through research, facilitation and community organizing alongside her co-founded collective CO:QUO. She's the Membership lead @ FWB and she does Curatorial Partnerships @ Refraction – both of which are prominent culture DAOs, or decentralized autonomous organizations. She also hosts radio shows on Refuge Worldwide and Cashmere Radio.

We chatted about how her love for music – which started in utero backstage at an Aerosmith concert – has taken her throughout the music industry, across the globe, and into the wild wild world of web3.
