In Major League Baseball, pitchers, on average, throw around 60% strikes. While we can easily understand that a pitcher will not throw 100% strikes or 100% balls, we tend to believe that they should be 100% mentally focused all the time, but that is just not the case. Similar to balls and strikes, there is a balance players need to achieve for high performance. Whether it’s balancing distractions with focus, negative thoughts with positive thoughts, or excuses with accountability -- a player's mental game is a dichotomy of opposing forces. We tackle these topics and many more as we dive deep into the mental game. Join us as we call Balls and Strikes.
