Sydney Hurd was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the court. Sydney’s favorite part about high school sports is the family atmosphere that it has created. She loves how sports bring her and her friends closer. Growing up with two brothers Sydney has developed a competitive personality, but that doesn’t keep her from having fun on the court. To Sydney, agriculture is a way of life. It’s waking up early, staying up late and going to work no matter what the weather conditions are. Agriculture has taught her many life lessons such as time management, responsibility, and discipline. Sydney is Student Council President, Vice President of her class, FFA President, and is involved in basketball, volleyball, golf, dance, 4-H, and FCA. She also helps with various charity events in her community. Once Sydney graduates, she plans to attend Iowa State University and major in agriculture.
