Iowa Player with Heart: Lily Holthaus
Lily Holthaus was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the court and field. Her favorite thing about high school sports is the culture and drive to get better everyday. High school sports has taught her to not only to push herself to become better, but to be part of a team that works together. Lily is involved in volleyball, track, drill team, FFA as the sophomore vice president, and the Dairy Cattle Evaluation CDE as the state runner up. In her community, Lily participates in 4-H serving as the club president, volleyball refereeing, Iowa Elite Volleyball Club, Cobra Volleyball Club, Iowa Junior Holstein Member, and Fayette County Dairy Judging and Quizbowl teams. Agriculture means many things to Lily such as grit, determination, the idea to put others before oneself, and continuing to improve and advocate for an industry that holds many memories. Lily plans to attend a 4-year college and continue playing volleyball. She would like to major in human health and performances or agriculture communications.
