This video covers ways to get seen online crawled and indexed. Because without crawling then indexing by Google we can not rank and get website traffic. So this is ultra important for our websites overall success. So I cover , Googles ping being depreciated as of June however now we have some more options that will be better and easier for us to implement while still gaining indexing and crawling from Google and other search engines.
The recommendation from Google is to use your websites sitemap " last-mod" function stating not to update your last modification date unless you have changed.

You can keep your sitemap fresh for crawling using:
1. Sitemap
2. Robots
3. Google Search Console
4. Indexing API
Schema is the big take away here because it is easy to update and deploy across your site to get a recrawl and a update from Google to help users on your website find fresh information throughout your site. Also you can still use robots.txt to help index and allow your sitemap xml file , you can allow and disallow items or pages but include your sitemaps inside of your robots.txt file to be crawled and allowed.
