President Trump short-circuited the criminal justice system by pardoning Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who had been convicted of defying a federal court order. He couldn't stop harassing Latinos he suspected of being illegal immigrants. By pardoning Arpaio, Trump showed everyone that he doesn't care about the rule of law.
