Sustainability can be heavy. Design can be precious. Climate storytelling can feel like a lecture. Once Upon a Planet is here to change that. Hosted by Jon Strassner—co-creator of Break Some Dishes and longtime challenger of the status quo—this podcast explores the intersection of interesting and climate change. That tiny 2-stop intersection is vitally important if we want to grow our understanding and awareness of global climate change.
Ginger Krieg Dosier is the co-founder and CEO of Biomason - and they have a goal to help save our Earth, one brick at a time.
Taking inspiration from marine ecosystems, Biomason aims to eliminate the need to emit carbon to produce building materials - developing a way to grow cement bricks and tiles with bacteria in order to replace traditional cement, the production of which, she says, generates more carbon dioxide than all but two countries, China and the United States.
Ginger Krieg Dosier and the Biomason team have a BIG goal and disrupting a billion-dollar building materials industry won't be easy, but it's a goal that's worthy of their efforts because as she says "the planet doesn't have time to wait."
