Selvin Vasquez-Velasquez was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for his commitment and passion on and off the field. His favorite things about high school sports are teamwork, competition, and leadership. Agriculture means a lot to Selvin, it reminds him of growing up farming in Guatemala with his dad. He gets to stay involved with agriculture through school. Selvin is involved in cross country, soccer, National Honor Society, FFA, and GE Scholars, and through the school’s Agriculture Career Tech Pathway, he gets to help maintain and expand the school farm. After graduating, Selvin plans to attend a university and find a career that offers him the opportunity to provide for his family.
