Wisconsin Player with Heart: Beth Grossheim
Beth Grossheim was nominated as a Beck’s Player with Heart for her commitment and passion on and off the field. The aspect that she loves most about high school sports is the satisfaction of accomplishing feats that may have seemed daunting or nearly impossible at first. Many times Beth has faced setbacks of self-doubt, but learning to overcome these obstacles has taught her resilience and the importance of perseverance. In addition, she strives to help her teammates reach their goals and view their successes not as loss for herself, but an opportunity for her to push herself to improve. Beth competes in track and field and she is involved in FFA. She participates in many community activities through FFA and her parish. She has volunteered for many activities such as MECCA Trail clean-up, roadside clean-up, WUMFA Conference, Christmas in the Village, Thanksgiving meal prep, Cottontail Classic, Labor Auction, and the Pink Heals Neon Run. Furthermore, through FFA, she has volunteered for Mishicot Floral, taught workshops for community members, and created products for Mishicot Floral to sell. To continue, she has also volunteered at her parish, Holy Cross in Mishicot by ushering and altar serving regularly. Beth believes that agriculture is a valuable aspect of everyone's life no matter what they do. Agriculture is not just about growing crops and raising livestock. It's about learning how to understand the environment, using resources wisely, and most importantly, sustaining life. Agriculture provides jobs, supports economies, and ensures that future generations can also benefit from agriculture. Since Beth is a sophomore, she is unsure of her plans after graduating high school.
