Welcome to Uncaged, i'm René Steelman.
If you've been with me from the beginning, you know this journey started
with She Became Visible. That show was about finding my voice and finally
allowing myself to be seen.
But visibility was never the destination.
Because once you become visible… you begin to realize something even bigger:
you see yourself, and all the boxes that have defined you, caged you – but you
were never meant to live inside a cage.
That's when I knew it was time for the next chapter.
She Became Visible became… Uncaged.
For most of my life, I didn't even realize I was living inside cages.
Some were built by other people… some by tradition… some by fear… and a few,
if i'm being honest, I built myself.
I've been a Navy veteran, a wife, a mother, an author, a philanthropist, an ex-
Mormon, a motorcycle rider, and a woman who decided that turning seventy
wasn't the end of my story—it was the beginning of my freedom.
Here's what I've learned:
Every one of us has a cage...
Maybe it's a belief that no longer fits.
A relationship that's become too small.
A career that no longer lights you up.
The voice in your head that says, \"it's too late,\" or \"this is just who I am\"
But here's the truth...
The door has always been there.
And together, we're going to find it and open it.
Each week on Uncaged, you'll meet extraordinary women—and a few remarkable
men—who found the courage to question the life they were handed, unlock the
doors that held them back, and step into something bigger, bolder, and more
authentic.
This isn't about becoming someone new.
It's about becoming who you were always meant to be.
