She works at the&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.broadinstitute.org/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Broad Institute</a>&nbsp;as the Senior Director of the Imaging Platform and is an Institute Scientist.</p><p>One of the things that strikes me about Anne's work is how visionary it is. She started doing this a decade ago or more, at a time when computer vision was not nearly as mature as it is today. The idea that you could just image cells and extract biologically meaningful information from them was not at all obvious when she first started.</p><p><strong>Theory and Practice is a presentation of&nbsp;</strong><a href=\"https://www.gv.com/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>GV</strong></a><strong>&nbsp;and </strong><a href=\"https://ai.google/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Google AI</strong></a><strong>.</strong></p><p>Hosted by&nbsp;<a href=\"https://www.gv.com/team/anthony-philippakis/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Philippakis</a>&nbsp;(Venture Partner at GV) and&nbsp;<a href=\"https://research.google/people/105779/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Alex Wiltschko</a>&nbsp;(Staff Research Scientist with Google AI), Theory and Practice opens the doors to the cutting edge of biology and computer science through conversations with leaders in the field.</p>","html":"<iframe src=\"https://art19.com/shows/theory-and-practice/episodes/ecb07d73-a10d-4ac0-83ce-66241865173d/embed\" style=\"width: 720px; height: 200px; border: 0 none;\" width=\"720\" height=\"200\" scrolling=\"no\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-popups allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"></iframe>","provider_name":"ART19","provider_url":"https://art19.com","title":"A Conversation with the Broad Institute's Anne Carpenter","type":"rich","version":"1.0","width":720,"height":200}
