As it was mere yards from her grandparents home &amp; also broad daylight in the middle of the afternoon no one would have thought that anything bad could happen.</p><p>However, this was not the case &amp; the lives of Amber's family were about to be turned upside down forever in a horrific turn of events .</p><p>Because Amber was suddenly snatched from her bike by a stranger, thrown screaming into a truck &amp; in a matter of seconds she had completely vanished never to be seen alive again.&nbsp;</p><p>After a four day intense search &amp; numerous media appeals to her abductor to release the little girl, Amber was tragically found murdered in a creek.</p><p>Although she could not be saved, since her horrific murder she has posthumously helped to save the lives of thousands of other children.</p><p>This is thanks to an emergency alert system that was put in place &amp; rolled out across the United States. It meant whenever a child was abducted law enforcement would issue an urgent alert telling the public to be on the lookout for the child, abductor or vehicle in which they were taken in. A critical tool that has proven to be highly effective in saving many abducted children that is known as the 'Amber Alert' , named in honour of Amber Hagerman .</p><p>Although she leaves behind an incredible legacy it is also so important to know &amp; remember that Amber's own abduction &amp; murder is still sadly unsolved to this day.&nbsp;</p><p>Twenty nine years have passed but her killer could still be out there somewhere, &amp; her family deserves to have justice for their little girl.&nbsp;&nbsp;A girl who really loved the colour pink, climbing trees &amp; riding her bike.
